1909 S VDB 1C Lincoln Wheat Cent PCGS XF 45 Extra Fine to AU Key Date Wood Grain

An interesting 1909 S VDB key date Lincoln wheat cent graded XF 45 by PCGS. It carries excellent details for the grade with a very unique 'Wood Grain Style' tone throughout both sides. It holds a very clear S Mint-mark with a sharply defined 'VDB' on the reverse. This key date coin has been one of the toughest coins for us to keep in inventory lately as they have been in strong demand. The 1909 S VDB Lincoln wheat cent is arguably one of the most desirable coins ever minted by the United States Mint. It carries a low mintage of only 484,000. However, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 50,000 of these exist today that are brown such as this circulated example. This coin is one of only 1,231 graded Extra Fine 45 by PCGS.
