1883 5C Shield Nickel NGC MS 64 Uncirculated Old Fatty Holder + Toned Nice !

A very attractive 1883 shield nickel graded MS 64 by NGC. It carries a strong strike throughout both sides with some attractively toned original surfaces. It also has been stored in a collectible old time 'NGC Fatty' holder that is in decent condition overall. A neat U.S type coin to find with some colorful toning as well as being stored in such a neat holder. This date is very popular among U.S type collectors as it is the last date minted for the shield nickel series. This date holds a massive mintage of 1,456,919. However, of this large mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 60,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 470 graded Mint State 64 by NGC.
