A tough 1878 S key date seated liberty quarter graded About Uncirculated Details 'Cleaned' by NGC. This San Francisco Mint date is among one of the toughest to obtain for the entire series. It holds excellent details but the coloration of the coin does indicate it has had an old cleaning at some point in time. It has been housed in a newer style NGC prong holder.
This San Francisco Mint date has a total mintage of only 140,000. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 300 have survived in all grades today.
