A tough 1869 better date liberty head quarter eagle gold piece graded AU 50 by NGC. This Philadelphia mint date holds the perfect amount of detail for the grade with a nice sharp strike. We believe it to be the only 1869 quarter eagle gold piece we have ever offered from the Philadelphia mint.
This scarce date holds a tiny mintage of only 4,320. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 150 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only seven graded about Uncirculated 50 by NGC.
