1866 5C With Rays Shield Nickel PCGS MS 64 Uncirculated US Type Coin Attractive

An 1866 with rays shield nickel graded MS 64 by PCGS. It carries a great strike throughout both sides with nice original surfaces. This coin carries some very large die cracks throughout the obverse. A very popular year among U.S type collectors being minted during the first year of the series. This date holds a very large mintage of 14,742,500. However, of this very large mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 40,000 have survived in all grades today. Of these survivors, only 540 have been graded Mint State 64 by PCGS.
